	The Open Position C Scale

This is a chord/scale diagram of the open position "C major" scale. Picture the top of your guitar at the top of this diagram and you should be able to see the notes in the key of C.

At Chodosh Guitar we recommend that you learn this scale as a basis for your understanding of the instrument. We start here with the very first group study. And then go up the neck to learn more.

I suggest "calling" out the name of each note as you play it to help you remember where you are.

DIRECTIONS

Line up four fingers to the first four frets.

Start with the note "C" at the 3rd fret on the 5th string. Play "up" to the highest note on the first string and then back "down" to the lowest note on the 6th string.

Finally, return to the note where you started. That's it!
