In any event . . .
Craig and others, Melisa Osterman, Joe Mott and a few who were once
students like Chris Monzanares, maybe a few more like Antonio Maldonado
were there to compete. They were all amazing! We saw many old
students from CHODOSH GUITAR there to cheer on our students as well.
It was wonderful. There was a great deal of fantastic local talent
there to compete and it was incredible.
Screaming metle, crying blues, heavy rock, wonderful melodic
ballads. Sweeping, lightning scales, chord solos, and classical
counter point. It was all there.
In Short, Craig won the week he was there and then during the final,
when each weeks winner came back to compete again, he took it again!
They sent him off to Louisiana, New Orleans, to be precise and there he
got onto a stage, competed against some pretty hot players. He
didn't go further but I've got to tell ya', for a guy who was only
playing, I think for 4 years at the time, he did unbelievably well!
The thing is that a lot of the best players I've ever met never get to
that position. Not favored by the right judges at the right time,
having nothing to do with their talent. In other words, I know Craig
is extremely talented and will go very far as a guitar player or really,
at anything he decides to do. But to see him in the right place and
at the right time with so little experience and up against some pretty
heavy players was one of the best experiences I have ever had and I am
grateful to have been there to be a part of it.
Congratulations Craig from all of us at CHODOSH GUITAR!
